    • Pomeroy--
Pomeroy, Wash., Saturday. Jan 14. ---The marriage of Rev Edmund Owens, until recently pastor of the Congregational Church of this city and, Miss Maud E. Wills took place in the Congregational Church at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning. Rev. Johnathan Edwards, of Pendleton, Ore., an uncle of the groom was the officiating clergyman. The church was beautifully decorated in Christmas greens, potted plants, cut flowers and white satin ribbons. During the ceremony the bridal party stood under an exquisite bell formed of white carnations and ferns. The bridal gown was a lovely creation of white silk mull over a taffeta slip. She wore the conventional veil of tuile and carried a bouquet of white carnations and maiden hair ferns bound together with white satin ribbons. Miss Ethel Wills, the maid of honor was beautiful in pale blue mull over blue silk. She carried white rosebuds. The groom was attended by Mr. Atwood Kirby. Mr. and Mrs. Owens left on the morning train for Spokane, where after a few days visit with friends, they will leave for the future home in Jerome, Arizona, where Rev. Mr. Owens has accepted the pastorate of the Congregational Church. The bride was engaged in school teaching in this city prior to their marriage and both she and the groom have a host of friends in this section. A reception was given the young people at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Macmaster, on the evening preceding the wedding. Over one hundred friends were in attendance. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Macmaster and the ladies of the Congregational Aid Society. The gifts including several hundred dollars worth of silver, cut glass, china and bric-a-brac, were on exhibition at the reception.
